Title: Security & Safety Systems Specialist

Position Description:

Under general supervision, programs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and inspects campus security systems (access control, intrusion, CCTV, etc.), fire alarm and computer equipment. Assists in maintaining CSU Police Department dispatch head-end software, and equipment. Maintains a regular on call schedule for access systems and emergency service calls, to include evenings and weekends. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• Experience in monitoring, testing and maintenance of fire fiber optic loop and security systems and associated wiring.
• Demonstrated competence and knowledge in the installation and repair of intrusion alarms, fire alarms, CCTV and access control.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug access control and intrusion system problems.
• Familiarity with database navigation.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and maintain on call status.
• Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Simplex 4100U training. Keysystems Administrator certification or electronic keybox experience.
• NICET 2 Fire Alarm Systems certified.
• Ohio Fire Marshall license.
