Under general direction, provides account management leadership for National Accounts.

Plans, develops, manages, and coordinates all account team strategies and activities.

Specific responsibilities include: defining and selling business impact strategies and initiatives for assigned accounts; personally developing and maintaining executive levels customer relationships; integrating multi-area and multi-region account team activity.

Responsible for capturing new National Account Customers through various methods of prospecting.


Provides overall National Account customer selling activity and program management for company initiatives.

Develops ongoing business relationships while continuing to expand Company presence within the customer's portfolio by selling additional scope of services and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Establishes, manages, and leads the National Account Customer account plan and implements it through dedicated and designated account team members.

Addresses customer's business, and financial, objectives.

Recommends solutions and links customer objectives to total value solution and competitive advantage.

Differentiates services and products from competitors based on business benefits.

Effectively writes, presents, and communicates proposals.

Negotiates value, addresses resistance when demonstrated, and closes the sale.

Builds and fosters team relationships within assigned National Account teams and within appropriate Regions, Branches, and local Offices to ensure customer satisfaction.

Supports and enables specific Account strategies and initiatives at the local level.

Communicates effectively within account teams utilizing appropriate tools.

Provides consultative services and approaches to communicate Company value in order to sell services and products.

Takes action to understand the customer's business. Builds partnering relationships with the customer's executive management team, engages executive management team as appropriate and planned. Develops credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment within assigned Key and Target National Account relationships.

Maximizes assigned Program Development Engineering resource effectiveness and efficiency.

Ensures customers receive maximum value from dedicated and assigned resources.

Participates in final program transition, inspection, and measurement. Ensures the customer is informed to the implementation and ongoing results of all services delivered.

Leads the development of each assigned National Account Team plan and strategy.

Implements these strategies and action plans contained in it.

Ensures executive and area management is continually informed of progress and account status.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Spacer Image

Profit achievement consistent with established Goals by business segment and individual account plans.


Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering. MBA desired. Minimum of eight years progressive sales and sales management experience. Ability to communicate at multiple levels within an organization, particularly at the customer's executive level.
