Job Description:

Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician

Perform installation, as well as, inspection, testing and maintenance/repair of Fire Pumps ,Wet, Dry, Pre-Action and Deluge Sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA, State and local codes. Candidate should have the ability to accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection. Knowledge of backflows and standpipes is a plus. Attention to detail with the ability to communicate with employees, employers, customers and authorities having jurisdiction both written and verbally is desired. Ability to work in heavy indusrial and power generation settings.

Education, training, experience:

Requirements:

•Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
•Five years field experience as a Sprinkler Fitter, Inspector.
•Must be a NICET Level II in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems or Layout of Water-Based Systems
•Functional knowledge of all types of water based systems and fire pumps.
•Valid driver's license with good driving record.
•Ability to stand, or climb stairs and ladders for a long period of time.
•Ability to lift a minimum of forty (40) pounds without assistance.
•Excellent "Customer Service Skills".
•Must be able to work weekends and on-call as needed.
•Good written and oral communication skills and have good organizational skills.
•Must be able to pass a pre-employment security, drug and background check.
•Backflow Certification a plus.
•Special Hazard Fire Systems experience as plus (i.e. CO2, FM-200, INERGEN, ETC.
•Experience in testing, installation, and maintenance at power generation facilities.
•The Fire Sprinkler Fitter will be responsible for assisting in layout, assembly and installation of fire sprinkler piping and related materials to the specifications of engineering/design, architectural, and structural blueprints.
